New Restaurant !

Hello everyone,
How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well.
On Sunday in the middle of November, I went to Taiwanese restaurant named “Din Tai Fung”. To my surprise, there were many people in front of the restaurant in spite of 2:30p.m. I got wait ticket and was told we needed to wait for three hours. I can’t believe it!!! Actually, I went to the restaurant in Taipei and Tokyo before. I remembered those were crowded both of them. However, I thought three hours was too long. Anyway, I thought I’d like to enjoy lunch, but need to change to dinner. While we waited, I went shopping and came back 5:30p.m. I waited for about 30 minutes. And finally, I enjoyed dinner. There are three languages on the menu, including Japanese. Juicy Pork Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao小籠包) were very good, but I felt the taste was different a little bit before. Three weeks later, I came back there again. It had already gone long line and long wait, so I was able to enter the restaurant in 30 minutes. When you have chance would you go there?
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Taka

Capital of the USA!

Hello everyone,
How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well.
I write about the event I went to East Coast. First, I met Soyeong who used to be my knitting teacher. She moved to East Coast five month ago. When I stayed in Washington D.C. down town Hotel, she drove spending two and half hours from her house. She looked fine and exuberant health. We spent to have lunch and walk around park while we talked a lot. I enjoyed it with my friend Soyeong. Thank you for your time and keeping touch with me. Second, I walked around the Capital of the USA. The area was very huge, and my foot were tired from the first day… although I walked around every day I stayed. I was impressed by the Washington D.C. because I could see the place which I always watch on the news, the U.S. Capital, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Washington Monument… Also, day time and night time both of them were very beautiful view. Finally, there were quite a lot of people everywhere. I was amazed. Especially, almost all Smithsonian Museums are free. I seemed there was never enough time. However, I had a spectacular experience while I stayed there all day. I hope if I have a one more chance to go there, I’d like to see more and more.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Taka

Autumn Season!

Hello everyone,
How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well.
I had really fun time during my autumn season. First, I enjoyed a little nice autumn day. One of the days, I went to Washington Park in Seattle. This park is close to the UW. My family likes Washington Park, so we go there every autumn season. A lot of leaves have turned yellow and red. It was wonderful for us while we strolled in the huge park. There are Japanese maples in this park, and also Japanese garden next to the park. Second, I was satisfied of a very delicious the multinational food. I had Vietnamese food and Taiwanese cuisine lately. Actually, I had eaten the Pho of Vietnamese food before, but I didn’t image it until eating. I was amazed that it was very palatable. Unfortunately, I’m difficult to explain it. Taiwanese restaurant is almost similar to Chinese restaurant, but I seemed that it’s quite different menu. As a result, I recommend you both of restaurants if you can. Hereafter, I want to try to the multinational foods. Finally, Waka came to the U.S. at last, and she had contacted everyone before she came to the U.S. And then, we were able to meet after so long. Hena also invited us at her new house. We were really enjoyed potluck party. Thank you, Hena! The other day, Waka and I went to Seattle Premium Outlet. We spent long time there, and it was also splendid shopping time for us. In fact, it became the longest hours in my shopping experience. It was for six hours, so I could find something new and the stores I have never visited. It was very interesting for me. Thank you for coming to the U.S., Waka! I had many things during my autumn season, and it was excellent for me and had fun very much.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Taka

Summer Vacation 2010!

Hello everyone,
How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well.
I was really enjoyed many things during the summer vacation. First, I went to Disneyland in Florida with my friend. The theme park is comprised of four sections, including Adventureland and Fantasyland, so that is huge. Also, the weather was too hot and humid, but we spent there a lot of time every day. In addition, we were so excited and enjoyed in Disneyland. Second, I went to Yellowstone National Park with my family. That is very popular in the U.S. There were so many bison there. Of course, there were also many other animals there. Yellowstone National Park has a lot of beautiful views and geysers, and we could see it. Actually, I was impressed. Finally, I have gotten a volunteer job from the end of August, but unfortunately, I don’t use English. My volunteer job is child care. In fact, it is first time for me to take care of children, so I always feel hard, but I sometimes learn something from children. And then I can see what children always have an interest in. As a result, I have a fun about the volunteer job. It was very nice and wonderful time during the summer vacation. I hope vacation always will be enjoyable.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Taka

Fantastic!

Hello everyone,
How are you doing? I hope you're doing well.
I'd like to write about KOOZA and WHALES. First, I went to see the KOOZA by Cirque Do Soleil in Seattle last week. This is like a circus. Actually, I've seen three times. When I went to Las Vegas, I saw one of them, whose hall was huge, but KOOZA's hall is smaller than that in Las Vegas. My seat was middle of hall and it was good for me. Performer and audience were very close, so I was excited more than before. There were many kinds of thing show like magic, circus, and pierrot. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to explain it. However, the story was taking slaptick various humors in abundance and everything was wonderful performance. In addition, pierrot's perform was very interesting and suprising me several times. I recommend you Cirque Du Soleil's show. I'll attach that HP link below if you're interested it.

Next, I went to San Juan Island to see whales yesterday. In the morning, it was bad weather because of much crowd and cool. However, I was lucky it became nice weather when I arrived at San Juan Island, so I could see whales under sunshine. It was difficult to look for Orcas because they were far from our ship. But I could see many times and a lot of Orcas. I’ve heard we were lucky we could see so much Orca from the crew of the ship. Actually, I spent it for two hours, and I was satisfied it, and I also had fun. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see whales closer like a Sea World. However, I could see wild Orca in this time. Also, there were many kinds of wild animals and birds, Sea Lion, Bald Eagle, etc. around San Juan Island area. I hope when you have a chance would you see both it. I had really glad and great times these days.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Taka

Have A Fun!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing? I hope you are doing well.
I had really enjoyed this. Also, that was interesting the time for me. First, there were about five or six people in knitting member. My teacher, Soyeong, told us how to make it. Actually, I had never knitted before, so it was difficult for me. I was always confused during knitting, but she made me happy because I was able to make three items. That’s scarf, hat, and vest. In addition, I think I could get one hobby. However, I’ll have to practice more. Second, we talked a lot while it was knitting. It looked like Talk Time. It was very good time because there is rarely chance to speak English in my life. And then, we have different back ground, so I was glad to learn the difference of the culture and customs each other. Unfortunately, knitting time has finished, because she has gone to East Coast. Finally, we had a party for her at Hena’s house. She prepared the shabu-shabu and everyone cooked some dishes and brought it. I cooked Quiche, and other people brought Chirashi, Deserttart and Riceroll etc. Everything was so delicious. We enjoyed the party. And then, at last, all of us finished knitting. I hope I’d like to keep in touch with us and I’d like to continue knitting step by step. I had a fun and great time.

Brittani, thank you for coming last knitting class day, and have a nice trip to Japan!!

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Taka

Sultry Sun

Hello everyone,

I’d like to write about enjoyed time. My husband made a business trip to San Diego, so I also went there two days later than him. It was a small storm when I arrived, but I was lucky because I experienced very nice weather and warm except the first day in San Diego. It looked like a midsummer in Seattle it is so good and comfortable for me. At first, we went to the huge Zoo Therefore, we were so tired, but I was glad I could see a Koala and Kangaroo. Actually, I have never seen them before. They were so cute. I wish I touched them. I felt that the distance between the animals and the people was so much closer than that of zoos in my country. Unfortunately, I couldn’t touch them. My husband said to me, “I used to touch both of them in Australia.” I thought that he was lucky. Second, we went to the SeaWorld which was also as huge as the Zoo or more. There were so big orcas. In addition, we could see orcas show. I was amazed at the size. We were so excited, and then, we saw that many times without getting tired. Especially, it was wonderful time at night because there were fireworks. This reminds me of the summer in Japan. Finally, we went to Tijuana in Mexico on foot. Also, we didn’t show the passport when we entered. However, we need to show the passport when we returned to the United States. That’s interesting situation for me. You know, there is Caesar’s Hotel in the Tijuana. Can you imagine the salad when you hear Caesar? Exactly!! The birthplace of Caesar salad is this hotel. It was surprise for me. And we enjoyed atmosphere and shopping very much in Tijuana. I recommend you to go to San Diego if you have chance. You’ll see a lot of animals from all over the world. Also, you’ll be able to have many kinds of foods there, Spanish, Mexican and Italian… We had Paella and Mexican food. It was so good and delicious. We enjoyed a great sultry sun time in San Diego.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Taka

What Do You Like?

Hello everyone,
How are you doing? I hope you’re doing well.
I'd like to write about Foodservice Show in Seattle last week. I've never been there. Have you ever been to Foodservice Show? Those were many kinds of international foods. There were chocolates, breads, cakes, wine, beer, café, clam chowder, ice cream, and pasta.etc. Also, there were kitchen and restaurant articles, and there were very famous shops, like Costco and Ivar’s. Of course, there was a tempura that Japanese people love. Do you know that? People came together in a crowd, and everyone had many kind of foods to try it, and me too. Actually, my stomach was very full when I went out there, but I was very satisfied and enjoyed very much. When you have chance next time, you should go there. You will be able surely to enjoy it!!
By the way…There was a very interesting thing, too. That’s a massage place. Do you know why? I guess… because the hall is very wide, so everyone walks and eats a lot, and it is so tiring. What do you think?
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Taka

Tim Burton's World

Hello everyone,

I’d like to write about Tim Burton’s world. I could see Tim Burton’s special exhibition when I went to museum at NY. Actually, I was surprised about it, but it was fun. There were so many people in special exhibition. I thought it might be most crowded in the museum, and many people were fascinated with him. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take a picture, so I bought a toy in Tim Burton’s character. After a few days, I knew his movie had started, and I saw a movie last weekend. The movie’s name is Alice in Wonderland. Actually, I hardly understood the movie dialogue because it wasn’t slow speed, and of course, there is no caption. Truthfully, it’s too difficult for me, but I almost understood the story while I saw a movie. And, I have never experienced the movie of 3D before, so it was fun and excited.. I have known him since his work of Edward Scissorhands. I felt his works has been very strange since that time, but I thought that it was enchanted many peoples. There is a person who loves his works in my friend. She is enchanted more than me. Moreover, his works are also very popular in Japan. A lot of fans gather whenever they go to Japan. Also, when they went to Japan this week, 3,800 people gathered in the small hall. Unbelievable!! I hope you see the movie when you have chance.
Thank you!

Sincerely,
Taka
